This group of 10 characters from Tiger Tim stories came from (you guessed it) a car boot sale. They came as they are in an unrelated modern box with 3 ping pong balls! The box and the balls are red herrings. These characters probably date to the 1930's. I think I paid £2 for the whole box.

So what are these toys from? Probably a game where you fire corks from a pop-gun to knock them down...I thought they might have been a skittles game but there are 10 of them (skittles have 9 and usually a taller one for the kingpin). The pop-gun game is just a guess, but it could be correct.

Tiger Tim first appeared in 'Tiger Tim's Tales' in 1919 and ran until the 1940's.
