This brass door know came from the front door of the Labour Exchange in Arnold Nottinghamshire. It was given to me in the 1970's by a joiner friend who had got it while doing some work at the premises some years before that. Sadly only the outside knob had been kept, but apparently the inner door know was less decorative and so less interesting. This one was for show and the one that everyone saw when visiting the pemises. The inner one would have been purely functional. Probably dates to the early 20th century.
