A piece of glass, possibly Bristol blue in colour, and of indeterminate use. It has been suggsted to me that i might be a finial of some sort that has been broken off a stem of glass. There is evidence of possible break underneath but I'm not convinced about the finial idea.It is not perectly cemetrical suggesting that it might have been free blown and the break could be from a pontil bar, it seems to be a bit one sided having moved slightly as it cooled. It has a series of indentations all around the upper surfaces which suggests that it was free blown into a former/mould and removed while still hot to cool and 'droop' alightly. I like the idea that it could be a paperweignt but i'm not really that concernd as it is a great piece of blue glass and only cost me one pound.
